This summer, the spotlight is on Newcastle’s Town Moor as we prepare for the 141st rendition of Europe’s grandest funfair—The Hoppings! It’s not merely about adrenaline-pumping rides, gourmet cuisine, and live entertainment. It’s also a golden opportunity for businesses to capitalise on the event’s high profile and extensive audiences.

From Friday, 16 June, and now extended to Sunday, 25 June, you’ll have extra time to immerse yourself in the magic of the 400 rides, attractions, and stalls that The Hoppings has on display. Here’s the thrilling news: for the first time, businesses can now partner with The Hoppings and exploit the event’s high-profile reputation through various sponsorship opportunities.

Since last year, The Hoppings has been managed by Crow Events and sprawls across over a kilometre of the 1000-acre Town Moor. Established in 1882 as an alternative to the annual Race Week at Newcastle Racecourse, it now draws more than half a million visitors each year.

While still honouring its traditional rides like helter-skelters, waltzers, and roundabouts, The Hoppings has evolved over the years. Thanks to technological advancements, major new attractions have been introduced, including The Mobile Magic Mouse Family Roller Coaster, the breathtaking Star Flyer, the Mac 5 Bomber, and The Air.

As part of its rebranding and evolution, Crow Events has planned a year-round digital marketing campaign, which includes new features like entertainment villages and zones. This is a phased plan extending over five years and unveils four sponsorship packages starting from £5k.

The Standard package, for instance, offers sponsors a vast array of print, digital, and social media marketing opportunities. This includes 10 VIP passes valid for the duration of The Hoppings and invitations to the launch event. But there’s more. Sponsors can also have the chance to see the car park named after their business or organisation, with their logo prominently displayed on all entry signage and tickets distributed to up to 20,000 vehicles.

Moreover, businesses can sponsor Feast Street—an expansive selection of gourmet food stalls complete with a large dining area, licensed bar, and live music, or the much-loved Magic Mouse roller coaster.

Ryan Crow of Crow Events shared that The Hoppings is more than just a funfair—it’s an event of prestige and significance, embodying the best of British culture. The goal is to evolve The Hoppings to rival the grandeur of events like Winter Wonderland at London’s Hyde Park while preserving its unique DNA.
