Thrilling New Attraction Set to Launch at The Hoppings
Adrenaline junkies will have the opportunity to savour some of the most spectacular, lofty, and swift attractions in Europe when The Hoppings rolls into Tyneside later this June.
On Friday, 16th June, the roaming fair will make its triumphant return to Newcastle’s Town Moor for the 141st time, boasting nearly 350 entertainments and sideshows, including some of the most audacious rides on the globe.
This year’s event will mark the premiere appearance of the spine-chilling Rocket Ride, catapulting riders 60 metres skyward before whirling them around in a corkscrew motion prior to a heart-stopping descent back to earth.
The Rocket Ride will be presented alongside long-standing crowd-pleasers such as the waltzers, dodgems, and helter skelter. Visitors can also brace themselves for a nerve-jangling experience on the Meteorite, a high-energy spin on the Matterhorn or Extreme, and even an adrenaline-fuelled whirl on the Magic Mouse rollercoaster.
Favourites like Rockrage, Twist, and Superbowl are predicted to draw large crowds as well. The younger attendees aren’t forgotten either, with flying planes and dumbos offering a more sedate experience, while older thrill-seekers can get their fix from the Ghost Train, Freak Out, Atmosfear, Miami Trip, Top Star, Oxygen, and Top Spin.
The Giant Wheel promises breathtaking views across the city, whilst daredevils might test their courage on the Ice Jet, Outer Limits, and Booster Max.
The Town Moor will host an Inflatable Minion throughout The Hoppings, with other attractions like the Ice Maze, Big Apple, Star Flyer, and Superbob making a much-anticipated return this year.
While the ever-popular reverse bungee catapults visitors to dizzying heights, the Crazy Frog, Runaway Train, Super Trouper, and Race o Rama ensure a steady flow of high-octane fun throughout the eight-day event.
The Simulator and other crowd-pleasers such as the Fun House, Exciter, Tagada, Sea Storm Air, Wipe Out, and Piny Express, are all returning, and the sideshows will feature firm favourites such as the rifle range, coconut shies, and hook a duck, catering to all age groups.
The fair’s gastronomic hub, Feast Street, will be expanded this year, offering a wider range of food stalls and the new addition of a stage for daily live entertainment.
The Hoppings attracted a staggering 500,000 visitors last year and organisers are hoping to exceed those numbers this time round.
Ryan Crow, of Crow Events, promises that this year’s Hoppings will “once again deliver something for everyone.”
“It’s truly the quintessential family amusement,” he noted. “There’s a broad range of rides and attractions suitable for all ages, opportunities to win a keepsake of the day, and to indulge in food, drink, and some of the finest attractions Europe has to offer.”
The Hoppings will commence on Friday, 16th June and run until Sunday, 25th June. Further details regarding the entertainment lineup at Feast Street can be found at www.hoppingsfunfairs.com.
