Ibiza Vibes in Newcastle: Ministry of Sound Headlines Northern Pride 2023

If you’re a fan of infectious beats, world-renowned DJs, and vibrant party atmospheres, then clear your calendars for the weekend of 22-23 July 2023. The organisers of Northern Pride are making some serious waves with the announcement of their first major entertainment act – none other than the global dance music powerhouse, Ministry of Sound. The iconic brand is set to bring a scintillating 90-minute set to Newcastle’s Town Moor, promising an unforgettable evening of dance music that will transport you straight to the shores of Ibiza.

Taking the lead on the decks is the legendary Smokin Jo, the only female recipient of the ‘number one DJ in the world’ award. With performances spanning Japan, Brazil, Greece, Singapore, and the USA, Jo brings a wealth of experience and an eclectic mix of dance anthems to the event. A regular at Ibiza’s top clubs, as well as the esteemed Fabric in London, her set is bound to get the crowd moving.

Joining Smokin Jo is the accomplished DJ and record producer, Seamus Haji. Known for his UK dance chart-topping cover of Indeep’s ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’, Haji’s set promises an exciting blend of classic and contemporary dance tunes. With a repertoire that includes collaborations with music icons like Mariah Carey, Rhianna, Moby, and Mika, you can expect nothing less than a stellar performance.

“This is a first for Northern Pride, and we’re incredibly excited to offer our attendees something different,” says event director, Ste Dunn. “Getting two of the world’s biggest DJs to perform at our event marks a significant milestone for us. We’re confident this will be an amazing club and party set.”

To ensure the continuity of Northern Pride at its current scale, this year’s event will carry a nominal charge. Day passes start from a pocket-friendly £6, while a full weekend pass is a bargain at £10. These tickets grant access to a range of attractions, including bars, food stalls, and a thrilling funfair.

For those seeking an extra special experience, VIP tickets offer access to the exclusive Platinum Bar and Garden, sponsored by Bobby’s Newcastle. The Community Village, hosting the Curious Arts stage, sports and active life zone, and the LGBT Northern Social Group, remains free for all attendees, ensuring an inclusive experience.

Family and Youth Zones, as well as Health and Wellbeing areas, are also part of the free offerings, ensuring an inclusive and diverse Pride celebration. Not to forget the Rainbow Village and its bustling market stalls, all set to operate throughout the weekend.
