Miller Homes Offers £10k in Donations for North East Charities

Miller Homes, a leading housebuilder in the North East, has pledged to donate £10,000 from its Community Fund to charities and good causes across the region. The funds will be disbursed through two rounds of funding, with applications for the first round now open until Wednesday, 3 May.

Supporting Grassroots Projects

Established in 2022, the Miller Homes Community Fund has been instrumental in supporting grassroots projects related to education, wellbeing, the environment, and sport across the North East. The housebuilder, which is currently delivering new homes in locations such as Chester-le-Street, Corbridge, and Bedlington, aims to assist local communities and organisations with their initiatives.

Previous Beneficiaries

Last year, seven beneficiaries received awards from the Community Fund. Among them were Consett-based Learning for Life (LfL), which secured a £2,000 grant for a sensory room at Disability North, Newcastle, and Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen, which received £600 to purchase food stock. Other recipients included Life Kitchen CIC, Beehive Early Years, County Durham Foodbank, Belmont United Football Club, and Throckley Magpies Junior Football Club.

Building Communities, Supporting People

Miller Homes Regional Managing Director, Patrick Arkle, emphasised that the company’s mission extends beyond constructing houses. They also aim to build communities by focusing on the people who live in them and supporting what matters to them. Through the Community Fund, Miller Homes strives to assist various groups in the North East, which undertake vital work in diverse fields such as children’s medical and educational support and outdoor activities promotion.

Apply Now for Funding

Charities and organisations are encouraged to apply for the first round of funding, which closes on Wednesday, 3 May. Successful applicants will receive donations up to a maximum of £2,000. A second round of funding will open for applications in September.
